Four Reasons You Should Try Zombie Video Games

I know they’re plenty of different video games out there, but this article is all about why to love the all out violent, gory, and the unethical extinction of the human race. Maybe you don’t understand the hype or the craze of the new found obsession of the undead, but honestly they’re plenty of reasons to jump on the wagon to bash in a zombies skull. Here are all the reasons I think it’s ok to show a liking to the rotten soulless creatures who are always out to eat your brain.

It can be therapeutic

Have you ever disliked or hated a person with a passion of a thousand fiery suns? Then bashing zombies heads in can take away that stress a bit. You can always find a zombie that looks similar to that person you hate. Whether it’s your boss, your high school bully, or that annoying  coworker that you can’t ever seem to get rid of, there is a special zombie for everyone. You can torture it or beat it down to a bloody pulp, the choice is yours. My personal favorite is running over them with a vehicle, but unfortunately can wreck your ride very quickly.

Build up your survival skills

Most zombie games are set in a post-apocalyptic world so you could always learn new and useful things to think of. You would never guess what everyday items you can turn into a zombie slaying weapon such as a guitar, frying pan, or a crowbar. You would be amazed at how rare guns are to find and even more scarce… bullets. Can you imagine how hard it would be to live without power and the internet? Some things are good to know in any kind of apocalypse situation and zombie games are surprisingly informative.

Learn how to keep your cool in a sticky situation

Sometimes you will get flooded by tons of zombies all at once in a zombie game and your first instinct is to panic. I don’t know about you but I do that often in real life, such as a rush working at a retail store or shopping during a rush at the supermarket. Sometimes you just have to keep your cool and you might even actually end up on top of a situation. You’ll learn tons of new skills that you maybe you didn't even realize you had and that running away is not always the best solution.

Problem Solving

Believe it or not there are tons of problems to solve in a zombie apocalypse. Sometimes there is a food shortage and you have to go out and raid places to survive. Other times you have other people you may be traveling with who have emotions flying everywhere. Emotions can get everywhere to especially if you have a friend or family member who passes away and seconds later their lifeless corpse is trying to eat you. Maybe you even have to figure out a way to fortify your living quarters to keep from getting devoured in your sleep. In any situation there are different ways to solve problems and new ways to think of solutions.

Whatever the situation, I think you would find Zombie games very satisfactory if you just gave them a chance. You can relieve some stress during the day, learn to survive without electricity, and  learn how to control your emotions. There are plenty different ones to try and all are equally as thrilling as the next, so get out there are try one today and kill a zombie or two for me.
